Hi my oscars won't stop fighting.they were perfect till about 3 weeks ago. They wont stop fighting.Could this be caused form over crowding??ive raised them since they were 3 inchs long. now there about 8 and 9 inchs long. they've growed up in a 33 gallon and thats what the in right now. i no its way way way to small for them but until now i havent had enough money to buy a bigger tank but i do now and im buying a 135 gallon. Could there fighting be caused by over croweding??

please reply

possibly, but they could also just dislike one another,
or they could be doing some sort of mating thing, are they mouthlocking or just hacking wereever they can?

Sounds like your avrage terratorial cichlid agresstion, in you dont have the cash i would say get a 25g or so untill you get a bigger tank cause it only gets worse. In a 135g they should be fine, there might be some aruments but nothing really to worry about.

yeah im getting it soon so it should be good...but its anyoying cause whenever i clean the tank they get sorta scared and the stick together and are best friends but then like an hour later there complete dicks to eachother. and it weird cause sometimes one will start the fight and the other will kinda back off then maybe the next day or too the other one will.but yeah im hoping with my new tank they'll be nicer to eachother cause they won't allways have to be close to each other
