Hi,

I feed floating pellets to my mollys, and i also put a couple of sinking pellets in for the red cherry shrimp.

But, my mollys just get into a little feeding frenzy type thing and eat all of the food.

So, will the shrimp sill find left overs/eat algae or whatever or do i need to take further action to ensure they get fed?

You can feed them after the lights are off if the fish are eating everything.

Weighed down veg aswell will help, just take it out within 24h to stop it rotting.

1st time i have had shrimp too

whats the best food so i know what to get

thanks

I never feed my shrimp, i have a really bright light in a small 2.5 gallon tank and i have about 20 red cherry shrimps in there. A lot of people tell me that i should feed them or they will starve but i havnt fed them since... the last 2 months (the time i got them). For some reason, they havnt died or they havnt been stressed, but overly happy! I have alot of wood and it has ALOT of plants in the tank. To prove they are happy, they have been breeding around the clock! Every week, i atleast see 1 or 2 females berried.

I guess how they survive is off the algae from the bright light, anyways, i dont worry about the tank at all cause its completely self sustainable!

I chuck the odd algae tablet in the aquarium but it is usually the snails or fish that munch these. My shrimp seem perfectly happy as Milkton mentions above maybe eating micro life and algae etc..

Ive started putting "shrimp pellets" in when the lights go off. But ive no idea who eats them. But the shrimp seem fine and active and are colouring up so im guessing they're getting enough food.

Just crush some shrimp pellets/flakes and stir it in the water :)
