Hi all,

Another question:

My Juwel STR450 Structured Background arrived (man it's not much for an expensive outlay).

I have also got a biopro 25W mini aquarium heater (which I'll probably put on another external thermostat (I love wires!).

My plan is to cut the tube from my external filter into the 3D background to disguise it, could I do the same with the heater, or would the heat it generates be enough to melt the polystyrene?

Cheers.

Darn! Figured so! ;P

Will have to be the only visible bit of equipment in the tank then ;P

Great idea :D

But I set myself a budget of £100 and I'm already over it with just - nano aquarium, back ground, external filter, glass diffuser, stop valve, CO2 gubbins, mini heater ;P...

LOL I haven't even purchased anything to go in it yet!

It shouldnt melt anything while in the water but if you forget to turn it off when you do a water change and it goes out of the water, yeah, it will probably melt it and shatter itself.

Well, it would fefinately not become exposed.... so maybe this doable? (lol don't want to risk expensive back ground though - man those guys must make a killing on that stuff!)

I would be abit cautious with this, Sounds like a great idea, But id go for an external one in a filter or sump. :)

Hmmm tricksy! LOL

I think I'll have it in the tank as per-normal and replace it with an inline heater int he future...

I've just recieved my mini external filter, and its probably a bit big to fit in there...

Cheers (I Suppose I could create a compartment in the 3D background with some black plastic mesh hiding the heater.... but would have to ensure there was flow directed to it....)

anyone know of some aquarium friendly black mesh?

Cheers!
