Will Loud Music Hurt Fish?

Im sorry guys but I dont agree :)

Fish feel vibrations in the water that are infinitely smaller than the vibrations we feel when loud music is played, although some fish get used to loud predictable natural sounds such as waves crashing on a beach, un-predictable loud and wide frequency noises will stress the fish too much.

Ken
yeah if im really honest I dont think they will like it

well if tapping on the glass stresses them out and that makes only a small\tiny vibration in the water then i think loud music will strees them loads more and as well why risk stressing them out and another point you'll still beable to hear things when ur 50 if you turn down the volume

thing is tho

I know u can have a fish tank table

so that must scare em??

no more than what music would

O yeah and ive seen fish tanks in night clubs

music was well loud in there

If I play loud music my fish don't seem to care that much. If it's higher-pitched, they don't seem to care. Occasionally base will make the tiger barbs go back to their home (A cryptocryne they live around and under when they're not active)

where do u have them in realation to your speakers?

Don't forget that it's not their hearing that's the issue it's their lateral line. This is so sensitive that too much vibration can kill them. I'm not saying it will, but it could. I've been toying with the idea of having a tank in my lounge but seeing as though I have a home cinema system in there, I don't think the sub will do them any favours.
