Will He Eat

will my plec eat small gravel or will he just spit it back out

Nope they won't eat it.

he has been on larger gravel and this new tank has come with very fine gravel,will my chiense algae eater eat it as hes always turning over the stones?

Fish won't eat stones unless its something like a bichir that can swallow small gravel whilst swallowing its food.
