hi, I have recently upgraded from a tiny 21l tank to a 60l. I currently have 1 bronze cory in with mollies and a swordtail (and 2 angels that will be going to a friends tank fairly soon) I would definately like around 3/4 more corys, but like the look of otto catfish too. will they get on?

ahhh the corys would win hands down then, love those little fellas, just thought ottos seemed quite groovy too. I have a small 21l tank not in use at the moment. would a small group of ottos go in there with some neons, danios etc

ottos tend to be very sensitive and thin when they arrive, most will only recommend them for larger tanks with a healthy algae supply to get them started

Never buy thin otos. If they have been starved to that point, the chances of them making a full recovery is small. This is regardless of how much they are fed later on. Always look for otos with round, healthy looking bellies.

angels in such a small tank will not work, avoid putting such a big fish in such a small tank

as i have said, I am well aware of this... we were missinformed by our lfs when sold the angels... so we have arranged for them to go to a friend with a much larger tank... but they are still small and are waiting for them to grow big enough

its nice that you have found somewhere for them to go, but keeping them 'to grow' won't work, they won't go in an aquarium thats too small for them, they will then become stunted, and will have a much shorter lifespan

i know its hard when stores give you wrong advise and how easy it is to get attached to them, but your better off moving them out sooner rather than later :good:

then we can get discussing something more suited to your tank size :)
