I think your BNs would be fine (they're pretty much armour plated and can hold their own against larger fish than convicts), the kuhlis however could be a different story... As a kuhli loach to some fish looks just like a worm  However I doubt they would attack the kuhlis as I have a 5" Severum living with a kuhli loach (and BNs) at the moment and he doesn't bother them. :good:

All in all you'd probably be fine keeping them together, don't expect any eggs to do too well with the BNs however. They love eating eggs!

It'll be okay as long as the convicts are not a breeding pair.
If its a breeding pair then there will be trouble, yes those plecs are armored but my pair my mine 12 inch common bleed and cause fungus.
Is it a breeding pair?
The kuhlis will not be tolerated and trust me, convicts can protect their eggs from a bunch of BN's.

thanks was just putting myself of buying them there cus i love my BNs but think i might have to get these then :)thank you

yes its a breeding pair  soo its a no then ? cheers ha :S

It may work but i'm just going off experience and whats happening to my fish now.
The pleco tried to eat the eggs but he got a beating, and remember he's a 12 inch common pleco.
The kuhlis will be harassed by a breeding pair.

Convicts must be more aggressive than I thought then. I have a breeding pair of Cryptoheros Cutteri with BNs (and the kuhli) and they've never been harmed - infact the BNs are worse towards them than the other way around, even during spawning.

i take it this could go either way... ammmm i think i might just leave it until i get a bigger tank for them :) so i wont be worrying every night about my amazing BNs

Lol they are true horrors, they took out my oscar, as to why he's in the 90G.
They do best in a species only tank when breeding, real nightmares!

haha sounds like a right pain in the #14### ha :) what cichild would you reccomend for a 200L tank if not bigger about 260L ? cheers

You've actually just brought back something I saw in an LFS a year or so ago. There were loads of little convicts (about 1") in a tank with a few firemouths (3") and a pair of convicts were defending their patch and beating up a firemouth.

So yeah.. maybe convicts aren't a good idea. Go for something more peaceful. :good:

You've got a lot of cichlids to choose from but going with the 260l I'd suggest: Heros sp. Rotkeil, Festive Cichlids, Keyhole Cichlids, Angelfish, Firemouths. There are a lot to choose from, it all depends on the size of fish you want - I'd strongly suggest basing your stocking around the cichlid(s) you want though, rather than buying shoal fish then adding cichlids later.

yea understand :) is there anything that would be good to have a go at breeding ? cheers
