OK.... here goes!..... Hope it does not foul the water. I'll report back.

With a top down view, (being in a pond).... one of the five fish immediately attacked it and devoured 2 grains..... The other 4 remained in hiding..... will only see in the morning if any rice is still visible.

I added about a tablespoon full...... all gone in the morning. So I conclude that they do eat coocked rice...... just not too sure about the nutritional value though.
