I’m planning a tank, and I haven’t kept shrimp in a community tank before. Will any of the fish below eat cherry shrimp?
Dwarf Gourami
Ember Tetra
Lemon Tetra
Flame Tetra
Kuhli Loach
Blue-Eyed Lemon Bristlenose Pleco
Albino Cory Cat
Plus, I’m thinking of adding a Bolivian Ram, but that might overstock me (It’s a 40 gallon breeder).

Shrimp are the bases of the food chain so anything that can fit a shrimp in its mouth will eat it. So I would say no on the shrimp. You're okay with the other stocking. If you want shrimp go with the nano tank and just do shrimp. If you want some fish and the nano tank I would do something very small like chilli rasbora or anything similar in size. Though a tank of just shrimp is very entertaining as well especially when you get a good number of them.

Ah, alright. I figured the pleco would munch on them anyways. Do you think they’d be good in a little 5-gallon?

The main problems I see are the dwarf gourami the pleco and the Bolivian rams. They all get big enough to cause problems.

The pleco's not going to do anything to the other fish if that's what the problem is that you're talking about? The dwarf gourami and the Rams should get along just fine is the gourami going to be at the top level the tank and the Rams should be at the mid or lower level of the tank.

If you're talking about problems with the shrimp, I see everything except for the pleco actively hunting down the shrimp. It's just in their nature to do that, heck even the plaque I would probably hunt down any shrimp that are in front of its face and eat them. All of my plecos love it when I put a piece of shrimp on a stick in the tank. As I said, shrimp are at the bottom of the food chain so anything that can get it in its mouth is going to try to eat it. All of the fish on the stocking list are able to put shrimp in their mouth so the shrimp will be heavily predated.

A 5 gallon tank would be perfect for shrimp. If you wanted to you can add a very small rasbora species like the chili rasboras or any other rasbora of a similar size. I have them together and a shrimp tank and never had any issues with predation.

Yeah, I think I’ll just fill a five gallon with those cute neocardina skittles shrimp. Maybe add some chili rasabora, but I’m fairly sure they need to be kept in schools, so probably too big for a five-gallon. Maybe a ten? I figured all the big fish would be a problem with the shrimp anyways, so no surprises.
