Just wondering if the red fire fish pair with a purple fire fish if they do will it be okay to buy them separate and then add them to the tank or will they fight. Or the other side do they not pair up at all and will just fight.

Any help will be much appreciated. :D

I believe they will fight! They are actually different species so I think they wont co-exist. It can also be very hard to pair firefish. I imagine you would need to buy an already formed pair.

They would coexist if they had enough room, food and larger fish to keep them in check but they wouldn't actually pair up.
I have a zebra dartfish and a chalk goby that live together under a rock in the same burrow, this is down to my other fish being aggressive.

Oh thats a shame will just a pair of of the same colour fight?

Yes, very difficult to actually find I mated pair. Dont just buy any random two they will live together for a bit then pick each other off

A group I was working with trying to breed them was having difficulty getting even male/female pairs to get along together, apparently very territorial with each other.

-Nemo- do you have any suggestions for a pair of fish for my tank.
