Wild Type

I went to my lfs tonight and i noticed they had a plakat. just to go and make sure it was i asked a breeder their at the store and he said no its cald a wild type not a plakat. i thought it was the same thing plz inform me on this

so is it a plakat oh yea and then he said it was a roundtail wild type i was like what the hell. i know a roundtail when i see one. but i dont care i got him. hes a dalmation marble so cute

you have to be careful what you call a "wildtype". most likely, you won't find them in your LFS, they are rare and not many here in north america breed them. they are not as flashy as your regular plakat. in fact, wildtypes go by the name "plakat par" which refers to all wildtypes such as imbellis, smaragdina, and wild splendens. check out my wildtype imbellis pic in aquarium pic forum, it's fresh, only 15 minutes old

yea i was the first to post about 10 minutes ago and i think it is a wild type. becuase he always talks about contests and i think he knows. i think its a wild splendens. h had another one thier but it didnt lookd to gret in color. and mine isnt that great in color it just looks really cool

if he knew anything about them he would refer to them correctly as "plakat".
if it's a splendens (two red stripes on gill covers) it could be a fighter. post a pic, i'd love to see

yea maybe he dosent know as much as i thought but i cant take pics my cousin has my camera ill get it back in a week he went on vacation.
