So I'm not at school for the rest of this week because guess what I have! Scarlatina!
If I'm not online it's because I'm not feeling to well and am staying in bed to re-cooperate.

Cheers,
Alessa!

Hope you've got given some anti biotics! Get well soon!

Scarlatina is a less aggressive viral version of scarlet fever. No just been prescribed paracetamol.

Cheers,
Alessa!

Being prescribed paracetamol is more insulting than not being prescribed anything!

Why? It's not as serious as scarlet fever and is only viral. It doesn't need antibiotics to treat it.

Cheers,
Alessa!

I mean because you normally have paracetamol on the shelf in your cupboard anyway, nevermind.

I always find it funny when my girlfriend goes to the doctors and comes back explaining how she's coming down with "something" blah de blah and the doctor says "Take paracetamol", AKA rather than leave empty handed take this .

However my girlfriend did have an operation the other month in which she was supplied with a weeks worth of bandages and told the hospital had none left in stock because they had given the last full treatments worth to the previous person. They said not to worry because they can give her perscription to pick it up at the pharmacy. She went to the pharmacy and was told it will be a few days until they will come in but they will put the order through for the bandages. Anyway 2 days later my girlfriend goes down and asks and they turn around and said "Oh no we didn't order them, the person who was supposed to order them is on holiday now" *Ended conversation*. My girlfriend was furious she stormed back to the hospital and demanded that she would be given some special bandages as she no longer had any left and had a large open wound on her leg... Ah got to love the NHS

Paracetamol is the most under rated drug on the market. I think Alessa would have been given this for its antipyretic properties rather than its pain killing properties.

Get well soon. :good:

its quite unusual now a days isn't it?

I had scarlet fever in my twenties, omg was I ill

How you feeling Alessa? Hope you are taking in lots of fluids?

I can't stand pain killers, in fact I can't stand anything that effects the way I perceive things. I remember being given anti nausea tablets once because I was throwing up violently for an entire week and it was getting to the point there was quite a bit of blood coming up as well. I got given them by the doctor and after a few hour they really started to take effect, I think it made me feel even more worse knowing that by body strangely didn't want to throw up but my mind knew it was time for the 12:45 lunch revival. As well as at the dentist recently when I was given my first ever painkiller via injection at 20.... , being poked in the gum wasn't what bothered me, it was the sensation of not having any sensation and the fact I could feel it spreading through my gum and jaw.... oh how I hated that so much, the filling broke within a few months and had to revisit the dentist, I went for no pain numbing that time and just pretended like it didn't hurt when really I was dreaming of gum drops and lollipops to ignore the pain though that was probably the reason I was there in the first place.

I think I just realised how much I dread being ill, I don't mind throwing up but just the whole lazing around being stuck watching the re runs of diagnosis murder and not being able to make a cup of tea without taking a toilet break.

Hope you are getting better by the minute, how are things going then? Least you didn't fall ill on christmas

Thats horrid. I've had scarlet fever, it certainly makes you very ill and weak for a bit too. It is contagious so be careful with those who also may live in the house

I hate pain killers too, but sometimes they are necessary. I noy take them when pain is too much and i need to function
