Had an order of zoas through today but sadly the bag had leaked so there was very little water left in with them.

i've ordered loads off of the net before with no problems but recently quite a few of us have had corals turn up that have leaked.

Whats wrong with the postal service! are they that bored that they are playing football with our parcels!

sorry really miffed at the moment, so needed a rant! my LED array was sposed to turn up but the stupid delivery man decided not to bother (well he reckoned he put a card thru the door but there ain't one) and just dropped it off at the depot instead. only problem is that thats 45-50 mins drive away!

aaaaaarrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhhh!

Had this problem when I owned the shop mate..had two claims against an unnamed air courier for this..
one singapore delivery arrived with boot marks and holes kicked through the boxes causing over £1000 worth of marine fish to die before arrival...
They simply don't care anymore and is why I have paid the extra recently to have them delivered by private courier...
Your zoas should be fine as many species come from tidal regions in the wild and can withstand a "dry" period, even so I know exactly where you are coming from.....

I had an APC driver not able to find us.

Last RM parcel with zoas in leaked and the one before that did too.

Quite a few have been damp but with tonnes of water left too. Don't think its the packaging, positive its those **** heads at royal mail.

I have a big thing against Royal Mail, one of their little vans wrote my 4x4 off!!!

Ive had lots of bad run ins with the post recently. I rang up and demanded reasons why they didnt leave things next door yet they give the option on the back of the card. So he got a very nasty phonecall, And now we havnt had problems since.

Hope it survives!

RM can be a real pain, I avoid getting livestock by post unless I have no other choice as I've heard so many horror stories.

Luckily my worst experience was with a bottle of seachem prime - the entire contents leaked out. funnily enough ( remember the stink of the stuff) no damaged packages since....

the postal service here in philadelphia (USA) is pretty good. I've never had a damaged parcel, but i've also never shipped livestock.

Maybe the companies aren't strict enough on their deliverymen.

I know in the states, missing or damaged parcels can get someone fired 3 strike policy.

glad it isn't just me who thinks that all RM staff are a waste of space and should all be sacked.......

well maybe the girl in our local PO can stay  ........... but the rest are a waste of space!

ooops what am i saying...........ah never mind the wife will never see this he he.

As you know Rob iv'e recently had the same problem, twice, once the carrier was Rm but to be honest the outside packaging was not damaged in any way and nor was the package that was delivered by APC but all the corals in both packages were out of water because the bags leaked, even though they had been triple baged each time

Spoke to the fish store who said they were seriously thinking of changing from plastic bags to plastic containers because of the problems

yeah i'd never send anything out in just bags. its just too risky. it only takes a bit of rolling around and potentially a sharpish bit of rock can burst a poly bag.

the plastic pots aren't all that expensive and you can reuse them anyway.
all teh zoas i send out are wrapped in cotton wool then placed in a pot. Not had any problems so far.
