Fish Crazy
Yeah so i'm cycling my 15 (us) gallon tall tank and last night I went to bed an it was alll clear and dandy. Then this morning it was really cloudy.
The day before yesterday (tuesday) I checked the water and the nitrates where at like 40 ppm the nitrites were really high the alkalinity was off the charts as was the PH (towards the alkalinity)
This morning the PH was near nuetral and the alkalinity was high but actually on the charts but the nitrites and nitrates were off the charts, I mean the bottle shows the highest nitrates at 200 ppm, which was dark pink and nitites at 10ppm, which was light pink, and the nitrates were blood red (on my test strip) and the nitrites were very dark pink.
the ammonia levels are around 3 ppm reflected by the less alkalinity and previously if you stuck your head over the tank with the lid open you could sort of smell teh ammonia. Now it smells strangely like river water.
I was thinking mabey the cloudyness is just the good bacteria going wild in my tank.
oh yeah and I put 1 tbl spoon of ammonia in daily.
