Hi all,

I have kept a male betta in his own 30lt tank for a couple of months. He looks healthy, eats a LOT, has bright colours but doesn't flare ... sometimes bettas flare at a finger when touching the glass ... mine seems to be such a wimp. Any ideas?

He just doesn't bother because of seeing other fingers pointing before at pet stores. If you want to see him flare, you could try putting a mirror in front of him.

Yes but don't do that too often or he will get really stressed ;)

It could mean he's one very cool customer and doesn't get rattled easily. B) 8)

I re-emphasise what the others said - Kossy especially, not too much as it causes stress (I didn't say it because I thought it was obvious enough) :D

My Betta seems to be flaring all the time, apparently he can see his image reflected on the heater and back glass . Not much I can do about it, I hope he won't get too stressed.
