why do my fish

in my main tain tank i have about eight plants in each back corner of the tank and a peice of bog wood with plants on in the middle and all the fish stay in the plants on the right of my tank why is this.

please help

Is this the most quiet area of the tank? away from traffic/filter flow/sunlight? How old is the tank?

where is the filter in your tank?

I've noticed that a lot of fish seem to gather nearby the filter (I have no idea why they do this) or just to one side of the tank (like mine...mine all seem to gather at the left of my tank for some bizarre reason)

Mine gather in the sunlight side of the tank at that time of the day.

Cats are normally recluses, so if your tank has bright light, they might prefer the plants. Not sure why they wouldn't go to the bogwood, though...

The female platies might be hiding from the males (if you have both genders), unless they're all in there.
