Why Did That Snail Die?

My snail died today, I had him for 5 days so obviously it isn't because of transporting to a new tank.

Could it be my water? Should I worry?

First things to check are your Ammonia and Nitrite levels. If both are zero, then check for copper. Any medications containing copper are deadly to shrimps and snails. Also, sometimes newly bought plants are dipped in snail treatments to rid of snails too so must be rinsed very very thoroughly before putting in your tank containing inverts.
