Here's a photo of my two ghost shrimp from a couple days ago. This afternoon I found the pale one dead. Any ideas why? And frankly, my shrimp have died off slowly one by one and I'd like to figure it out. Had them all about a year or so. Thanks for your help.

Whats your water like? Ph ammnio nitrate nitrites?

All shrimp are very sensitive to change and poor water quality. Could be a molting problem? Do you ever see skin little shrimp skin around?

Stats are 0-0-30, and the shrimp I've had have molted several times in the past year. The only tank mates are cory, so I don't think they're being attacked or anything.

How long have you had them? Have you added any new ones? Did you use any medications?

I would look up white muscle disease, it has a lot of other common names, once the shrimp turn white inside it usually takes only a couple of days for them to die. From what I have read about the condition it is spread by the other shrimp eating the corspe of the infected one after it dies.

As far as I know there is no known cure, I hope in this instance I am wrong.

Well, I'm down to just one shrimp as far as I can see, so if it has it that will be the end of it. But now my tank looks like it has a bacteria bloom, not terrible but noticeable. Started right after I did my water change after I found the dead shrimp.
