he's vanished :-(
he's about 2 1/2 cm long. and I can't find him anywhere
WHY

Is it in the tank in your sig? PLenty of hungry fish in there. BUt bristlenoses are great hiders and have good camoflage o maybe you just can't see him.

hello. No he's not in the one in my signature. I've just bought a 4.5 gallon and he's in there.
Need not worry now.
When i set up the tank i put a sponge/stones filter and where the bubbles come out at the top is quite big. I wondered if the baby sucky (that's his name) would swim in there. I thought no, cause the bubbles were coming out.
I just cleaned it to be sure and there he was. He fell out into the bathroom basin and into the plug bit. I tryed to grab him but he fell down the drain.
So i quickly unscrewed the plumbing and got him out. pretty good for a girl I think :)
anyway. he's back in his little tank. I changed the filter to a little wee sponge filter that I had which he can't swim into!!!!!
I think he'll be my favourite fishie now. my little superman guy :p

Lol - nice ending...

...what an adventure for the little guy

www :)

hehehe

wen u found him in the drain was he stuck to the side?

hello. I guess I can laugh about it too now. I'm definately happy that i found him. I'd never seen one as small as him :)
He seems fine. He's swimming around the tank sucking on things. I will keep an eye on him tho cause soaps and stuff go down the drain and all. But he seems fine. I just fed him a little bit of brocoli to munch on. thought he could do with the boost.
I'm very very happy tho. :look: :p

I don't think he was stuck. i just tipped the water out and he came too. He's pretty tiny tho.
He's soooo cute.

Even the fries of bristlenoses are pretty tough... I didn't even know my pair spawned until I found a fry at about 2cm in size. I have 20 of them right now, and out of the 20, where did I find 5 of them? In the filter... :D I guess they got trapped in there for a while (at least a week or two).

All of them are still healthy and growing...

my little guy was only in the filter for about 2 days but I was expecting that if I found him in there, that he would be long dead. I reckon any other fish would have been.
It's really quite amazing to me. He's still fine, 24 hrs later. I thought he might get sick from the soap residue in the drain, but he's not. Very cool :D

he could be hiding under a rock or burrowed some were but if it has died a fish can rot very quickly so just you must look for the bones becasue it send you nitrate high if their re dead fish in the tanks

They seem to love the current. Mine try to climb into my HOB filter at night after lights out. I dont think they've ever made it in, maybe they have and have come back out again. :dunno: They love to hang upsidedown on the wall of my tank right above the bubble wall and let the bubbles run over their bodys. Pretty cool fish I reckon. B)
