Its not so much an emergency, but I'd like to know right away, so thanks for looking at least.

Problem: I have eggs.

Fish eggs, that is, in my tank. There doesnt look to be too many, maybe like 20 to 30? They showed up about 2 days ago.

My problem is, I dont know what.. laid? them.

29 Gal Freshwater-

4 Guppies
3 Glow-lite Tetras
2 Penguin Tetras
2 Albino Cory Cats
2 Tuxedo Platys
1 Lemon Tetra
1 Pristilla Tetra
1 Whitecloud
1 Chiclid
1 Snail. I dunno what kind.

I thought Guppies and Platys were livebearers, and the guppies are the only newest additions to the tank, minus the chiclid.

I know its going to be obvious, but basically I think I'm fish-retarded, so if someone could just point me in the direction of what it might be ... ?

Thanks tons. :D

Also, since I have some other questions, I'll add them too.

I know the tank's very diverse, a bit too diverse in some people's opinions, but I'm just leaving the fish alone and basically waiting for them to die. No, I'm feeding and taking care of them, but I'm not fretting about them all together. They've been fine minus when I introduced the guppies and chiclid.

I added 5 guppies. 1 one them disappeared while I was gone :/ Its been a few days since they've been in the tank, and at first they were doing just fine, but I just looked at the tank for a bit and realized the guppies have quite a bit of fin loss. Not too bad, just a little chunk out of each of the big tails.
Now I know chiclids are aggressive, although I did believe it was only with other species of chiclids, but I have a very good guess that it's the bully. I'm going to watch for the next week or so, but should I remove any of the fish immediately or just wait it out? I also figured maybe they're just establishing the pecking order and not worry about it. Is the chiclid going to be trouble? and if so, what can I do with it?

My other question is, I bought this snail, and I quite enjoy watching the little bugger make his way around the tank, but the place I got it from didnt say what kind it was or have any information about it. I tried to look up snail info, but all I got was Apple Snail stuff. Is this a species of apple snail, or am I clueless?

:hey: thanks for reading, its a doozy, haha.

Hi ammer :)

Yes, that is a Ramshorn snail.

I'm not sure what I'm seeing on the picture, but if what looks like two little white dots on the glass are the eggs, they are most likely your cory cats. The reason there are so few is either that they are very young or that they have already been eaten by the other fish.

I see a fair sized bubble nest. Are cories bubblenest builders?

Hi ger87410 :)

No, corys are definitely not bubble nest builders. I thought those two little spots near the bottom were the eggs. I don't know about the cichlid, but there are no bubblenest builders among the other fish in that tank.

Very strange. :dunno:

Oooooh.

Snail eggs? Oi.

I hope they arent :p How boring, haha.

Oh, and sorry about the picture being a bit blurry, but the eggs are ontop of the top right leaf, they're sort of clear and hard to see but compared to my other pictures, about as sharp as my camera's going to focus

BUT thanks muchly <33

Some cichlids are bubblenest builders. What kind of cichlid, what size, how long you owned?

EDIT: I think it's your corys. All the rest are either live bearers, egg scatterers, egg layers, or brooders. Corys are rock/leaf egg layers. Check this site out: http://www.erdingtonaquatics.com/tropical1.html

Hi there

Iwould say they are snail eggs, I have a few different types of snail in my tank and one is ramshorn and they look very similar. Check this out Snail Info
Looks like your going to be parents of lots of the litttle darlings, they are really cute when young and you can see through them
