Hi,

Wonder if anyone can identify my fish for me. My fish shop sold him to me as an imperial plec that will grow to 8" After my common plec Henry got to big for me. I have tried looking him up on the internet, but he looks just nothing like an imperial plec, as far as I can tell he looks like a L134, Leopard Frog pleco (Peckoltia sp.). He's very yellow.

Any way of telling for sure?

-_-

How much did you pay for the little chap ?!?

Are you in the UK or USA ?!? If you're in the UK, where did you get him from? I'm after some L134's at the moment :D

Well, using pics as a resource, this is what leopard frog plecs should look like;

Imperial/zebra plec(which looks very different from leopard frog plecs);

Alternatively, a similar looing plec that could be yours is;

candy striped plec;

or a clown/ringlet plec;

Are the plecs stripes more vertical or more horizontal? Are the stripes thin and many or thick and few?

our lfs sells them as queen imperials - but L134's are indeed the Leopard frogs

Here is is one of ours...

Thanks folks...

That is Buffy - We're waiting for 'Spike' to mature and then we'll have litte 134s on the plans.

These are 2 of the plecs we nearly lost in the planted tank on wednesday - thankfully they are ok - and still look just as good :)
