Hi,

Request Help

Tank size: 125 litres
pH: unknown
ammonia: 0
nitrite: 0
nitrate: 25
kH: unknown
gH: unknown
tank temp: 26 degrees C

Fish Symptoms (include full description including lesion, color, location, fish behavior): some of the fish had white speckles on them, then some died.

Volume and Frequency of water changes: weekly water changes, 30 litres

Chemical Additives or Media in your tank: Have added Interpet NO. 6 White spot treatment onday 1 and day 4 (12 ml dissolved in warm water)

Tank inhabitants: There were 9 cardinal tetras, 5 lime green tetras, 7 rummy nose tetras, 1 BN, 2 otos, 1 guppy, 1 amano shrimp, 1 angel fish.
Now there are only 1 cardinal, 1 lime green tetra, 6 rummy nose, 1 BN, 1 oto, 1 guppy, 1 shrimp

Recent additions to your tank (living or decoration): 4 of the cardinals added 10 days before first spots noticed.

Exposure to chemicals: No.

Digital photo (include if possible): N/A

As you can see, we've lost a lot of fish. I'd tested the water 2 days before noticing first spots (tested saturday, noticed this monday), no ammonia, no nitrites, nitrates 25.

We added second dose of NO. 6 on day 4. Not sure how to continue now. I can no longer see spots on the fish, we lost none yesterday but there was one rummy dead this morning. I can't see the bits floating in the tank or on tank walls. Should we dose again, or just do big water change and wait and see what happens?

How long do we wait before adding new tetras?

Thank you very much.

Best to treat another week once spots have gone.

The interpet whitespot med breaks down so don't need to use black carbon.
Do a 50% water change and redose.

Have you raised temp to 30 and increased aeration.

Thanks Wilder. I'll do 50% water change and redose. I raised temp.to 26 degrees, as stated in Interpet med. booklet, didn't know it should be higher. Will that temp. be ok for all my fish listed below in 125 l? I have increased filter aeration and also had air pump on at regular intervals.

I Would stick to the instructions of the med then. If they say 26 that should be fine.
