I came in from the pub last night and found my tank infested with tiny white worms crawling mostly on the glass but some floating in the water as well, I have two oscars who don't seem too bothered by the new unwanted additions although some are on the oscars themselves.
It doesn't seem too major but I have given a 20% water change to remove most of the worms.
Does anyone know what they are as I have never heard of this before and checked the net and no-one has mentioned them.
I wonder if they are foreign and in there by accident ie fly or knat larvae??
I was amazed at the speed they appeared could only have occured up to 12 hours before I noticed.
Has anyone any suggestions??

Sounds like planaria - harmless but often indicate poor water conditions/lack of tank maintenance or overfeeding.

Try a search in here or the net - there is loads of info on them

www :)

Thanks for your help - you were right.
I apologise looking back on this forum the issue has been dealt with before, I should have looked further into it first (but you do panic a little) when things like this occur.
