This is regarding my 29 gallon tank. All I have in there is a dwarf gourami and 5 mickey mouse platys (4 are babies). The tank itself has been up for more than a year but these fish are new as of January (I lost everything before them in a lengthy power outage). Recently I noticed short (about 1/2 inch long), thin white "things" stuck to the glass as the water level went down (evaporation), I thought they were bits of plant matter since I have live plants but last night I looked more carefully and noticed they were moving and are actually worms of some sort.

What are they and how can I get rid of them? Will they harm my fish?

I tried taking a picture but they don't show up well enough to be helpful.

Thanks for the info! I'll follow it's advice and see what happens. Though I can't add salt because of the gourami (if I remember they don't tolerate salt well), I'll do some cleanings and see if it helps. Thanks again!

Yeah.. just sounds like some planaria... totally harmless and your fish will eat them if they see them.
