White spots

this is my l239 pleco I’ve had him for 3 weeks very shy wee guy. Yesterday was the first day av actually seen him come out and to that end a seen all these spots on his body ( see photo) I think it may be ick? Can someone let me know? He’s swimming around fine and I stuck abit of potato in for him and he’s sucking away so he is eating. Thanks.
