Hi,
I have a platy that developed a fungal type white patch right in front of her dorsal fin. I put her in the hospital tank and treated her with maracyn. It started to go away and now it has come back about 5 days after it appeared to be gone. What should I do? Also, I noticed in my large tank, where this platy came from originally, that my jilli catfish has what appears to be a big white head pimple on his nose!!! I don't ever recall seeing him have thos before. What can this be? He is happy and is still digging around etc. What should I treat him with for this? Should I get him to the hospital tank too!!
Deb

The pimple thing could be White Spot (Ich). Put both of them in a hospital tank, raise the temp to about 80°F and do a 50% water change of the hospital tank every day and treat with Rid Ich or WS3 (You can use salt but i am not really sure about it, from what I've been told you are supposed to use 1 TABLESPOON per 5 gallons)

I wouldn't use the salting method until someone more educated in salt dipping can confirm that the fish will be ok with it
