When I got home from work last night i noticed a couple of white spots on one of my clowns. It was too late to go to the shop and get meds and as I have dealt with FW white spot before I thought 'ok, get some tommorow' This morning I could see the clown was not itself, staying in one spot and hiding in rocks. Anyway, got the kids breakfast, sorted school stuff and had another look. It was dead :( . I am now treating with Octozin but the other fish, another clown and a six line wrasse have spots too.

Will they be dead tommorow? Is octozin any good? Octozin was reccomended as its reef safe and effective in three days (is this right? with FW white spot the parasite is only treatable when its free swimming and treatments need to be continued for a longer period).

Thanks

Jon

Octozin worked for me.
Garlic added with food is good also.

I read about garlic last night and got some freash garlic then (sainsburys open 24 hours :D ), added some to my daily feed and soaked for an hour or so, should I keep this up or stop while medicating?

Day three of the octozin treatment and last tablets added. The remaining clown and the six line are still alive and the white spot seems to be going. What I need to know is, when do I turn the skimmer back on and put carbon back in my filter? The octozin packet says that a 50% water change may be advisable on day 8, is that when the treatment is finished?

TIA

Jon

I didnt do a ater change as i still had some fish with minimal symptoms so i thought that keeping the medicationin the water might be beneficial.

If you think they are strong enough to handle the parasite now though then feel free to add new water and carbon
