White Spot

My tank developed white spot yesterday night. I turned up the temputure 10 degrees, and left it there for, so far, 12 hours. Is this going to be enough to cure it, or should I get some medicine?

The infected fish are:
2 kissing gouramis
1 oto
1 black phantom tetra

And also, my biggest kisser has been sitting listless on the bottom of the tank for a few days. Could this disease be the problem? Or is something else going on?

If you are trying to get rid of ICH with heat alone then you will need to have the temp above 86 degrees and keep it at this for around two weeks. A very good article that explains the ICH cycle can be found here:

When my fishie friends got the ich i didnt want to use meds so turned my tank heat up slowly to 86 degrees it didnt seem to take long for the white spots to go on the fish but i left the heat up for a couple of weeks as breezer said in the last post,and that seemd to do the trick
