help me please im really worried about my betta, he just sits on the tank floor or behind my heater, he has white spot and possibly an abscess at the base of his left fin.

white spot arrived in my tank from the pet store i bought my betta from. i treated my tank with anti white spot plus, followed the instuctions down to the letter, after 2weeks of treating the tank and with water changes, its still in my tank affecting my betta only, no other fish in my tank has anything wrong with it.

ive looked online for other white spot treatments and the best i can find is krodon rid ick. is this any good or better than what im using??

i dont know what else i can do :(

The whitespots do they look like grains of salt, plus he has a bacterial infection with the abcess, what colour is the absess, can you describe it more.

yeah its like grains of salt on him, they keep coming and going. he had white spot first, and over the past couple of days hes been rubbing himself on the side of my tank and on anything he can. the abcess is like a white round mark slightly raised behind his fin. every so often he'll stop moving it and keep it against himself.

hope this helps

Right you will need to treat for the whitespot, turn temp up to 30, increase aeration as the med and high temp will reduce 02 in the water, need to start treating fast as whitespot can soon kill a fish, if you don't have a med get one quick, and turn temp up now.
The abcess you say it's raised does it look like cauliflower, just want to make sure.

What fish do you have in the tank, as if you have no scaless fish you can add salt.

i have treated the tank and have to add the second part in 2moz, i will turn the temperature up higher.

i have guppies, neon tetra, corydoras and of course my betta.

Ok, you can add salt but not much, how many gallons is the tank.

ahh now hes come out more the lump is actually on his fin, it doesnt look like a cauliflower.

um working it out my tank is 5.5 gallons

The tank is overstocked, a teaspoon of salt, good luck.
