white spot disease

Hello,

New on here but i noticed last night that some of my fish had white spot disease, i am going to get some treatment today and put it in, my main concern is because my tank is still cycling how do i go about doing my regular water changes, i was going to do one before i put it in but how long do i have to wait till i can do my next change??

Most meds should have how often you can add them. Like the one I used to use says to add it every 4th day. You may like to coincide your water changes with this. It should be fairly clear on the bottle.

Do you have catfish or cories or scaleless fish, i.e. loaches, in the tank? If not then you can add aquariums alt to the tank. You cannot add regular table salt as this contains additives which can harm your fish. Aquarium shop is available at most LFSs. Also, turning the temp up when you have ich speeds up the life cycle of the parasite hence helping the treatment process.
