White hard water stains

If it's on coverglass you can soak the glass in vinegar and it will dissolve the calcium.

If it's in the aquarium (along the water line or above the water), there's not much you can do. You can try a single sided razorblade (available from a chemist or some supermarkets) and scrape it off. Otherwise the only other thing to do is use softer water with less minerals and you won't get as much residue. However, if you have hardwater fishes, you don't want to use soft water for them.

When water spots start to form on the tank glass where the water is splashing from the filter outlet I will use a paper towel with some vinegar on it. They come right off
