Oh Boy,
Here we go again,
{UPDATE}
I have added some pictures of the fish that show the film pretty good, please take a look and see if you know what it is.....as I was taking pics I noticed an area on one of them that was almost like a sore....I have it circled in the pic...it has kind of a white cottony film on it.{UPDATE}

Please view the pics in the "Member's Aquarium Pictures"
here..........

please ID Angel Illness

My angels are still recovering from the pH shock, but I started noticing a white film all over them a couple days ago...I just figured it was part of the shock.....they also have clamped fins....does this sound like something to anyone, or is this just part of the pH shock?
Thanks again,

I have been reading your post messages on your angels if they have a white film it sounds like a fungus to me I have just treated mine for the same thing I used that medicine called maracyn it seems to do wonders for my fish I am going to get the vet to give me some good medicine for my fish this gets to run in some money after a while and all it takes is one mistake.and all the fish gets sick I love the hobby but I hate watching them die and cant do nothing about it.

thanks for your reply,
This is the strangest thing.....I also have cory cats in the same tank, and they are going over the angels like they are eating something off of them?!?! ...

what kind of med do I need to treat whatever this is..................I am so ready to start enjoying my fish....instead of stressing over them!

:crazy:

the medicine is called maracyn it is made by mardel companies it is the best stuff I have ever seen I can put that stuff in my tank and the next day I see signs of improvement try it once and see you will be happy with the results. I know it is very stressful but if you can ever get them lined out you will enjoy them. just give it a try I think it is around 14 dollars but I think it is worth ever dime.

thanks for your help,
I guess it is back to Ft Worth again today, was just there yesterday....its over an hour drive, but the only place to find fish meds. :crazy:

How do you use this medication?

Do I need to take out my fish that have it, and transfer them to another tank, or treat them all in the large tank? Only the 6 mature angels have it that I added a week ago.
Thanks

1 tablet every day for 5 days hope you can save your fish that is what I was going to get next is angels?

You mentioned a pH shock -sorry I didn't get your earlier post on the subject but looking at your pics I would suggest that the fish are producing extra mucus to protect their skins. This should disappear over a few days as pH and other conditions stabilize.

fourth day on Maracyn and my fish are doing much better...........they are actually coming to the top of the tank wanting to be fed when they see me. :D

Thanks everyone...... :D :D
