I have a school of White Cloud Mountain Minnows and I have read that they spawn easily and do not usually eat their young and therein lies the problem. I don't want any babies. I remember my experience with guppies years ago and don't want to repeat it. The question is what can I put in with my peaceful, gentle adults that will eat the babies ( I,m sorry if I sound cold hearted) but will not harass the adult White Clouds. Would dwarf gourami's be good. Please don't suggest betta's. I have had no luck putting my betta's in with anything. They seem to prefer to be alone. (Their choice, not mine.) Thanks for any suggestions.

Pretty much any other peacefull fish thats happy in cooler water....

...try something that suits your water parameters.

As WCM are egg layers and they shed their eggs amongst greenery and the substrate, you can keep any fish that occupy the substrate level. Fish by nature will eat other eggs and fry if they have a chance to anyway. I have 8 female guppies and they are always gravid and unless I actually put the female in a breeding trap, I never see a fry, which proves my point.
So if you have other species in your tank and they are carnivores, don't worry you will not be over-run with WCM
