in my tank I have 1 white cloud, these are schooling fish....so how many should I have in with him, he seems to be doing fine with the mollies, but he is so pretty I would like to get a few more.

the minimum I'd say for WCMM's is 6.

will it be safe to add 5 more to my tank, I have 5 fish in there already my biggest being the mollies, and I have a 10 gallon tank. would it be better to move him to a new tank and add the others?

Mollies should preferably have a larger tank than 10 gal. It would be better to move them into a new, larger tank and keep WCMMs in the 10 gal.

One inch of fish per gallon using adult fish sizes and never exceeding 5 inches in a 10 gallon is a good guideline. Mollies get to be 4 inches and white clouds to around 2. Take into account also that mollies need to be kept at a ratio of at least 2 females to every male (applies to all common livebearers) and shoaling fish should be kept in groups of at least 5 for minnows/danios, 6 for rasboras and depending on barb, anywhere from 3 to 7. Also consider territorial requirements and aggression and, ofcourse, activity levels (which is why a zebra danio in a 10 gallon isn't possible). I think with that in mind you can work it all out for yourself :)

I couldn't have said that better myself. :D
what a fantastic 800th post

:) Thank you very much for your help, this morning I talked to a friend and told her your advice and she gave me a 25 gal tank that i'll move the mollies into and then i'll put the white clouds in the 10, so my lonely white cloud won't be so lonely anymore.

Thanks! Didn't notice it was my 800th! Woohoo! :D

You mean to clean the empty tank right? Personaly I'd just rinse it in plain hot water. Put it in the bathtub or the garden... You don't want to use any soap in case any is left over (very very poisonous to fish). If it looks realy dirty you can clean it with a little bleach but plain water should be enough. Also make sure you don't cary the tank around if it has water in it.

yes to clean the empty tank, and thank you for the advice, i did just that, I am not going to put the in it for a few weeks I just introduced a male mollie and don't want them any more stressed then they already are. I don't think I could carry it around with water in it, 25 gallons is huge  but they will have a great time in there, my male is feeling a little bullied i think.

You also won't need a heater for the WCMMs as long as you don't feel cold in the room in which they are kept. Mine live quite happily in the cold tank.

The light seems to keep the water fairly warm and since I am always cold, I keep the heat up and the tanks away from the windows, or cold drafts. ;) Thank you for the advice.
