Just a quick query about their pecking order if anyone knows. I bought 6 about 3 weeks ago for the tank in my siggy and noticed yesterday that one of them, which I'm gonna guess is the one at the very bottom of the pecking order, has his tail fin nipped in a few places. They don't stay still for long so it's kinda hard to get a good viewing of them all without catching them so as far as I know there is only this one that has his tail fin nipped.

Is this normal?

Will increasing the number of white clouds improve this? are they like tiger barbs in this sense?

I've been working long night shifts over the past couple of weeks so havnt been able to give the new fish the attention they deserve perhaps, but I have not seen any evidence that the Krib has been giving any of them a hard time, in fact he's not even bothered when they come in close even when he is feeding and the amano shrimp just chill out together behind the filter and only come out when they are hungry. The shrimp havn't doubled in size yet so I'm pretty sure they are not the ev0l variety.

Any comments and ideas are welcomed. :)

Hi Karuna,
As far as I know there is no pecking order but might need a second opinion on that. I have 6 in my community tank with similar size fish and haven't noticed them nipping at each other. They tend to swim along side each other and don't really bother one another.

I have 6, and I saw the biggest and littlest packing suitcases to go away together earlier on today, so I guess the all get along just fine.

ty for the replies :)

I guess I need to spend a few hours today and tomorrow watching the tank and making sure that firstly the krib isnt bullying any of them and secondly that the shrimp I have bought are in fact of the Amano variety.
