I have a 10 gallon tank the temperature is at like 74 F ive got 3 platys and 3 white cloud minnows(1 of which is a gold, the other is younger about 2/3s the size) I read something on how to tell the sexes with the minnows online but I don't know how right that is.

Anyway my goldwcm is kind of harrasing my wcm for no other reason, they are both males I believe.

EDIT: BTW the red coloration on his tail is less red.

They used to chase eachother playfully but now the gold sort of agressivly chases my WC, and also trys to prevent him from eating. I think it's because my thirs WC is female and she just got old enough for them to notice it.

Could it be the whole male female thing because I had the same problem with my platys. What should I do?

The aggressivness may be due to lack of numbers WCMs need groups of 6 of more, can you move the platys to another tank and add some more WCMs?

To sex WCMs the female will look more rounded when compaired to a male. The bottom picture you've posted looks like a female and the other two look to be males, If you can get 3 more WCMs. I HTH :D

I just got a new tank and I need to test it for leaks and clean it and then have it running for like a day so, plus I need a stand and have no where to put it, and I don't have a filter for it, so yeah.

Can I set the tank up on the floor? -_-

Hmm

P.S. I have no idea what I HTH means.

HTH = Hope That Helps :)

If its an all glass aquarium (i.e it has no framework of any kind surrounding it)
then you would need to put some polystyrene or cork board under the tank to spread out the weight of the water. If its a framed aquarium then putting on the floor will be ok. :D

Also I have those six fish in the 10 gallon, if I added 3 more fish for thw WCs will I be overcrouding the tank?

I'm not sure how big platies will get, so I can't really answer that question perfectly but hear goes

I, personally think that in a 10 gallon 6 maybe even 8 WCMs will be plenty,
It would help a little more If you give the exact dimensions of the tank in question.
as a short term thing 6 wcms and the platies will be fine. You just need to keep your eye on the ammonia, nitrate etc and be vigilant on the water changes. :)
