Hi, I'm new here. Please help me understand more about my fish.
I have 2 white cloud minnow. (A) i'm sure its female because the belly so big, i think she pregnant again, she scattered some eggs few months ago but the eggs get mouldy . And the other is B, i think also female because the mouth not red and has a bit belly but the belly never get bigger like A.
My questions are:
1. Can white cloud minnow scattered eggs byself without male or spawning? Maybe because too full or couldn't hold anymore..
2. Can B probably a male even without red mouth and has a bit belly? Because A scattered eggs few months ago, and i only had 2 minnows.
3. Were the eggs got mouldy because there's no male to fertilizer the eggs?
Thank you for your help.

B could be a male. Yes, they can scatter unfertilized eggs without a male. It is common for eggs to grow fungus, especially if unfertilized. Adding alder cones or methylene blue until the eggs hatch will help fight fungus. If eggs are clear, they are fertile. If they get cloudy after a few hours then they are unfertilized and should be removed. Hope this helps. :)

Welcome! Pretty fish! It's possible you have a male and female; hard to tell for certain. I will defer to Deanasue about the eggs, since I've never had this species breed.

If your tank isn't overstocked already, I would recommend getting a few more white clouds, as they seem to be happier in a school. How big is your tank, what's your setup, and what else is in there? We like to know these things. :)
