just wonderin if it was ok to keep them with male betta or would they nip his fins???

Nippers. They also prefer somewhat fast-flowing water whereas bettas can't stand it. I would not suggest it.

I have WCMM's with a male betta and I have had no problems what so ever,
I will point out that they are in a 4ft tank though.
