I've just recently added a Apple Snail to my List of tank inhabitants.

SLUDGE as I have come to call him, is doing fine, as well as all his tank mates. "PRAISE GOD"

But I know that some of your run of the mill, Everyday Meds can be "VERY" Hazerdous to a Snails well being. So my question is fairly Simple "I Believe" for someone who has had Snails for awhile.

What is the Best thing to keep my Snail{s} in during times of Tank Medicating?

I was thinking of a 3 or 4 gallon Nano Tank as a Temporary Home for Sludge.
Does anyone have any Objections to this Idea.

Would I still Need to keep a Heater in the Temp Tank while Sludge was in there?
At the moment he's kept in the tank of coarse with my Fish, which is kept at a Constant 77.9 F.

I know I would have to use Tank Water in the Transfer.

And do You think I would have to keep a Small Airstone going in the tank as well for him?

And now for the Tricky part, how soonb after Medication of the tank is Complete would it be safe to put Sludge back in the Main Tank?

How many and much Water Changes would you suggest, before the Transfer Back?

Any and All ideas/suggestions WELCOME...

And how about Telling me what anyone of you have used, as a Temp Home during the Medication Process for your Snails, As well as any type of Equipment... Thanks in advance: For all your guys/gals HELP... :D

Well it really depends what sort of meds you are using, not all are harmful to things like snails, i think copper is the harmful ingredient that you have to look out for with snails/invertebrates- if you are using a snail-harmful med, simply put some carbon sponge into your filter and run it for a couple of days, this will remove all meds from the water :) .
I think a 1gal tank should be fine for the snail if you put an airstone in it though, what sort of snail do you have do you know?
