I'm setting up a new fish tank which is 39"x16"x16". The substrate is sand and it is well planted. My current stocking is as follows: 15 Harlequins, 15 blood fin neons, 10 darf neon rainbowfish, 6 keyhole cichilds. I want about 6 cories in the tank now but i don't know which type i should get to suit my tank. Any suggestions?

I'm not very well acquainted with keyhole cichlids, how aggressive are they? Because most cories like to chill for most of the day (who doesn't?) so they should be with very peaceful fish otherwise they may hide all the time or they could get eaten :(

To be honest that tank is pretty well stocked as it is. Is everything in the tank already at it's mature size or are they all still young?

Everything is still pretty young. Keyhole cichilds are very shy fish and like to just chill too. That is why i picked them for the tank. I will be getting rid of 4 of the keyholes once they pair up so there will only be 2 of them.

If it were me I'd leave everything to grow to full size as you dont want to risk overstocking now just to have water problems in the future.

Just to add, if your water conditions remain stable once everything is fully grown and you're keeping on top of Nitrate levels then most corys will be fine in your set-up. What temp are you running at?

The heater is set at 70f but the temp is actually 74-76f. The tank is very very well planted. Exactly the same as this image... http://www.tropica.com/umbraco/imageGen.aspx?image=/media/6201/layout_tap_iz.jpg&width=685&constrain=true At the min the nitrites are a bit high at around 40ppm-60ppm but the tank is still cycling. I only have 5 black neons 5 harlequins and 2 7 week old pink convicts along with the filter from a cycled tank to get this tank cycled.
