Which To Use

Hi I'm not sure which type of filter to use? I currently have a fluval 2 in my small aquarium which came with it when I was given it! I'm not sure whether to use this or to go back to undergravel filtration which is what we used to have in my old aquarium! Which is the best type to use undergravel or the fluval?

i would say the fluval because from what i have heard the undergravel filters aren't as good. my friend has two relativly small tanks one is filtered by an internal one filtered by under gravel, he says the internal is much better, clearer water etc.

Undergravel filtration is obsolete technology.

The Fluval is probably fine, though it's hard to say unless we know the model and the size of the tank...

I will never ever use UGF again. I got sick of the 'tanks fine for six months and then the parameters go all over the place cos of the poo under the plate' scenario.

I for one am not a fan of poking tubes down the lift tube and then sucking to start a syphon.....

Any type of power filter all day long...
