Which Tetra Is This Please?

looks like a stressed uncoloured black neon. if they are happy and well fed and healthy the black will be much darker m8. HTH

Extremely happy and have been that colour for the last 3 months when I bought them. :good:

If it helps the fish have no red in the top of the eyes like a black neon. Definately not a black neon as that was my first thought but possilby a very close variation?

Fed on live daphinia twice a week, tetra delica weekly, tetra pro colour (good stuff) and tetra prima the rest of the time.

i dont believe it is a black neon, though extremely close so i am not sure.. try checking out silver tip tetras? google it and see.. only thing similar i could find in the few minutes i searched.

only thing i would recommend is either find out from the place you got them from, or google tetras and check out sites/pictures and find the closest looking thing. i didnt look for very long but the silver tip was the closest of what i did see. just search it up i guess

Johnny Jensen has a picture of a fish in his library here which resembles your fish a lot. Thing is, I'm not sure he has identified it correctly. I don't believe that to be H. heterohabdus.

My first thought when I looked at the picture was that it was H. hyanuary, but I looked at a few other pictures and am not convinced.

It doesn't have the prominent red colour above the eye, so I don't believe it to be a morph of H. herbertaxelrodi or H. metae. H vilmae doesn't really have any white in the fins which your fish clearly does. Astyanax kennedyi also is similar, but again, no white.

Hmmm....

I can see why people are saying a SilverTip but I don't think so. The dark markings and the white in the fins looks about right, but that highlight along the lateral line simply doesn't.

yea i will agree the line makes it sketchy on being a silver tip... hmm

Sorry to be a pain but this is bugging me

I have done my best to capture some further photos, however as you know it's not easy catching a silver bullet!
