I was looking at a tank of blue acaras at my lfs last week and noticed one that didn't quite look like the rest. On closer inspection I realized it was a Ram. I already have a Golden one so I recogonized the body type even tho this one is the regular color. Anyway, I have looked a pictures of Bolivian Rams and mine differs in the respect that the vertical black marks run all down his body. The ones I have seen pictures of just have the one vertical black spot. Is he a German or just a variation of a Bolovian? Thanks for your help. I am excited about him because believe it or not in my area, our lfs's rarely have Rams??

possibly a blue ram, or a German bred blue ram. They are one and the same species, one being called German because they were selectively bred in Germany to enhance the colourations. They usually have red eyes with black stripes running downwards on their body with blue and possibly yellow as well, they are also compatible with gold rams in terms of breeding. Hope this helps in some way :)
