Which Ones To Get

Im getting a new tank tommorow or friday, 30 x 15 x 12. Im getting this because i cant add chiclids to my 5ft community tank. I know that once ive cycled the tank, im defo going to get some convicts, but can you recommend me some others? I dont want to spend too much around £40 - £50 in total. Thanks

convicts dont play well with others....if you get them...just get THEM they will most likly stress the others to death or just kill them...might i recomend some others...perhaps mbuna...or peacocks?

If you get a pair of convicts, you can't get anything else. They are VERY aggressive/territorial during spawning. Do you want convicts only or scrap that idea and a different stocking list?

You can't keep africans with other tropical fish either because of the water parameter needs. Plus, if your worried about aggression, africans are much more aggressive than any new world cichlid.

Cons are perfectly fine in many community settings as long as the other fish are of decent size (compared to the cons) and are a little on the tougher side. They are extremely territorial when breeding, so if you plan on getting more than one, then they are the only things in the tank as they will kill or seriously injure the other stockings (even if the other fish is twice the size of the cons).

Just a clarification I guess too, 30x15x12, those are inches right? because if they centimeters, that is way too small for even one con

yeh the tanks in inches, only £28 at pets at home, pretty cheap i think.

I dont think i will get the convicts then, i just love the look of them, the black and white stripes. Im off to holly bush 2moro so i will nopte down the name of the fish i like and hopefully you guys will tell me if they are compatable. Thanks guys.
