Hi there,

I am buying t5 lights they are these http://cgi.ebay.com.au/2FT-Double-T5-24W-H...1QQcmdZViewItem i thought with these it would put me in the high light category but it hasn't apparently so need to think now about either 2 of these lights or think about low light options, and hope that some of these are beautiful.

Well most swords and anubias are lowlight plants, so is java fern. If I converted everything right, the tank is about 34gal. So you would have 1.4 wpg. Which would be enough for lowlight plants. With two lights you would have 2.8wpg and medium-high light. But I remember reading that the wpg rule doesn't exactly work with T5s, so I'm not sure. Either way with DIY CO2 you may have problems with two hoods.

The tank is 28uk gallon incase your in uk. which would work out at 1.7 WPG. T5's are more leanient so you would probobaly grow the above plants.

Daren, I've whittled your list.

My signature also has a link to easy plants that will do well in your tank. With DIY CO2 and good ferts, you may also get away with Glosso, though it may or may not carpet. Some here have gotten it to carpet with about 1.5WPG, it will certainly grow and may make an attractive foreground without carpeting. If you can find small form Lobelia cardinalis, that makes a really very pretty foreground. If this is your first tank, I'd stick with below 2WPG. You can always upgrade your lighting later.

Good luck to you.
