I looked at a bunch while choosing one, and TFH seems to have the most content. Most of the others are wall-to-wall ads (not that TFH doesn't have a lot of ads), and very short "stories".
Presently receive Aquarium Fish magazine, but it doesn't have quite enough freshwater tropical fish articles to suit me. I think oldest daughter is getting me subscription to Tropical Fish Hobbyist for my birthday next month, and we'll see how
that magazine pans out.
I have a subscription to Aquarium Fish magazine and I have to say that I don't really like it that much. It has too many articles on rare or wild species and not enough articles on species that are more common in the hobby. I don't need to know about elephant nose fish, I want articles on fish that I can fit in my aquarium. Also for some reason I have already gotten up to April's issue! At this rate I will have the whole year's subscription done by March!
I subscribe to Aquarium Fish mag. Actually, I LIKE it! It's cheaper! Then again, people have different opinions. Go to the bookstore, You'll see the fish mags. You can Buy them at pet stores near the checkouts, usually.

I have found that the best, most informative mag by far is Practical Fishkeeping. It's a Brit mag that I've heard is sold in many major chain bookstores in the USA. Information content compared to the number of advertisements favours the articles and information. Most American mags are heavy heavy on the advertisements with the information buried deeply within. Of these, I do prefer TFH.
