okay, so i asked previously about which lighting unit was better, and having plumped for the arcadia T8 ultraseal unit, i am now wondering what tubes to put in it.
we are kinda enjoying putting the tank together ourselves, but tbh it was so much easier when you just bought a tank with everything in it, lmao!!
it'll be a double unit, so 2 tubes and the tank is 4ft exact, so will most likely be 42" tubes, but which ones? the tank will have plants in it.
also, what's the difference between these tubes, and say a tube out of b&q? lol, just curious, they all look the same to me!
in the couple of years that we've had the 2 tanks we have now, we've only had to replace 1 tube in each, which i think is quite decent, considering my own room goes through lightbulbs, like i go through underpants!!
when we did replace one tube, we got one that seemed to make the water blue and was quite dull and kinda mucked up the tank in the couple of days it was in use!
so yes, as you can see, when it comes to the actual tubes, we are a bit clueless
doesn't help when they all have different names and prices, but say they do the same things on the box...
