Which Keepable Tropical Fish Looks Most Like A Shark?

I think the iridecent shark looks most likea ''proper''shark!!!!
Anyone else think different???

I agree they are very cool, but only with a REALLY big tank

There are Redtailed Black Sharks and Rainbow Sharks though they're not the steel-blue or grey color of the "typical" shark.

A reasonably better size, those only reach 16" but are schooling fish so a fairly large tank is necessary.

I agree with CCQ, Bala Sharks look pretty shark-like, but if you mean keepable by the average home-aquarist, it's got to be Rainbow Sharks - for the shape, not the color.

rainbow sharks can be fairly aggressive so be careful when choosing tankmates

But the face of the bala shark ruins it, its got the face of a normal fish

As weird as it sounds, I think a lot of plecs have a very shark like body and swimming style.

If your tank is big enough there is always the Black shark as well. Can be a bit of a bully with fish of a similar appearence, but they look cool though.

i have red tailed black sharks and i had some bala sharks.

balas really acted like real sharks swimming round the tank and the red tails are pretty kewl to watch.

they have more of a loach style to them tho i think.
