Ok I Just found an 25g aquarium and I repaired it to great condition. I already have a 3g aquarium thats freshwater. But I want to try saltwater cause I like the look of coral in the tanks. But people have said that salt water aquariums are hard to care for and that they cost alot of money to keep up. So should I just stick with the freshwater aquarium and if so what are so colorful plants i can use.

Thanks to any one who helps. : )

No one can tell you what you should buy, only you can :) If you glance through the members aquariums pictures on this site there are a great amount of freshwater tanks :) On the other hand if looked after saltwater tanks can look great also. Just do a bit of research before you decide what to go for. :)

So its up to you

I just got back into the aquarium hobby a month or two ago. My original plan was to jump right in and go saltwater.

After calculating all the costs, a freshwater tank was going to cost quite a bit as it was. So I decided to wait until I was better suited to buy, and to care for a larger saltwater tank.

I'd suggest you get the feel for a larger freshwater tank before you jump into the saltwater game. I'm also not positive on this, and the experts can elaborate/correct me on this, but most marine fish would be happier in a 55 gallon or above. Just meaning that most of them are a little bigger on average that most freshwater fish. Also water flow, and stability.

If you are brave though, and want to jump in head first, go for it! Just research like crazy, read all you can. There's always more to learn, for freshwater OR saltwater! Good luck! :D
