Which Is Best In The Long Run Plastic Or Real Plants?

Hi there again I'm in the struggle of buying ethier plastic or real plants. Non of my fish eat plants they like a well planted tank though.

I'm more fond of real plants but my Mum wants me tro have plastic plants so which is the best?

Real plants , hands down, no question. They look better, the fish seem to like them more than fake and I defy you to show me a fake plant that eats ammonia.

I always go for real plants i think they look so much better, although you can can get nice fake plants too.

Thanks I also like the real pants and they give off some oxygen during daylight hours.

What I hate is aquarium ornaments I would die for some bogwood and some real plants who elese hates ornaments like plastic divers? :stupid:

I personally use fake AND real plants... gives a great effect!

I have fake too and prefer them, as i like to be able to keep the gravel well maintained, which i find you can't do as well with real.

Why do ypu use plastic plants which are the pros and cons of them

As before the day of the water change i like to move my plants out to get rid of the waste food, and the next day i will give it a vac and put the plants back, i leave the ornaments in for the fish to hide in.

With a gravel vac, fake silk plants can look nice, i do like real plants and they do have there uses, but i like to keep my tank in good condition so the fish stay healthy.

i thought getting real plants was ok...until they came with snails!!
Cant get rid of them.....impossible,,,cant be done..going to drain the tank at whit.

Will never ever get a real plant again
